## I love FM parts, and so do my customers!  Does FM have a wholesale program that I can join?

We have a dealer program similar to a "jobber" discount program aimed at local shops that our mutual customers use for performance parts installation and service rather than an outright wholesale program, as we focus primarily on business-to-consumer sales.  This program aims to work with local shops that want to use our products for installations with local customers.  Doing so promotes our products and provides our customers with a local shop that has experience installing our products.  We also want these relationships to be maintained (not just a single, one-time order), and then we never hear from you again.  Here is the complete list of the current requirements and considerations that we make when an automotive shop is seeking a dealer account with Flyin' Miata:

* You **must** be an automotive-based business with a significant focus on Miata-specific performance.  Brick & mortar preferred.  Online-only will be considered.

* You **must** submit a valid tax exemption form with an address that matches your business location\*.

* The enforced MAP (Minimum Advertised Price) for FM parts is the price where your shopping cart price with shipping equals our shopping cart price with shipping.  Note that we offer free domestic shipping on orders over $40 USD, which is why it's stated like this.

* We require that all parts ordered through our dealers be shipped to their business addresses\*.  Any order that comes through your account but is not shipped to the business address will be denied and cancelled.  The intent is to support our dealers by promoting our products for their direct customers, not a drop-shipping process with FM as the middleman.  There are also tax implications involved, which would complicate this program more than is necessary to achieve our goal with our authorized parts dealers.

* All Flyin' Miata products publicly listed for sale (physically, digitally, etc.) will be represented and credited as Flyin' Miata products using the correct logos, branding, etc.  (an FM Branding Information document with more details will be provided upon successful onboarding)

* All Flyin' Miata products will be sold to end-users as originally intended by Flyin' Miata.  Alterations or modifications to Flyin' Miata parts are not permitted without the expressed consent of Flyin' Miata.

* Dealers agree not to associate Flyin' Miata, the Flyin' Miata brand, or Flyin' Miata products in any negative, inappropriate, or illegal practices or instances, whether verbally, digitally, or otherwise.

If these conditions are met, we will offer a discount of up to 15% on most products we usually stock, assuming there is an available margin for the product.  If the above is not true for a product, a dealer discount will **not** be available for that part.

Please note that this dealer relationship is at will.  Either party has the ability to end the relationship for any reason.

\* _Not applicable for international dealers as FM does not collect tax for shipments delivered to international addresses.  However, we are still required to collect and remit sales tax for any domestic (US) shipment._

## How does FM handle tax exemptions?

Before we can add your business to [our family of authorized FM parts dealers](https://help.flyinmiata.com/is-there-a-local-fm-parts-dealer-near-me-HJJJfpFgK), there is some legal paperwork that we need to have on file.  Due to the [Wayfair vs. South Dakota SCOTUS decision in 2018](https://www.supremecourt.gov/opinions/17pdf/17-494_j4el.pdf), Flyin' Miata is obligated to collect and remit sales tax on sales to other states.  As an FM parts dealer, you must submit all applicable business tax documentation to fulfill the legal obligations of interstate eCommerce.

We have partnered with [tax compliance specialist, Avalara](https://www.avalara.com/us/en/about/why-avalara.html), to ensure that we stay 100% compliant with local and interstate tax remission practices.  Fortunately, they make the process simple for our dealers and us by verifying and storing all the applicable business tax information and paperwork to keep everyone on the right side of the law.  Once Flyin' Miata has determined that your business will be a good match for our authorized FM parts dealer program, we'll send you a link to submit your tax information to Avalara.

## OK, I'm ready to submit my info!  Where do I send my documentation for review?

Please email the following information to [FMdealer@flyinmiata.com](mailto:fmdealer@flyinmiata.com):

* The email address associated with your online FM account (if you haven't already done so, you'll need to create an account here: [https://flyinmiata.com/account/register](https://flyinmiata.com/account/register)).

* Your company website, social media account, or similar.

* What is the focus of your business (motorsports, maintenance, custom fabrication, etc.)?

* What percentage of your business is focused on catering to Miatas?

* How many Miatas come through your doors for service every year?

Let us know if you have any questions about the information listed above or need help with any of it.  Once you've sent over your info and everything is in good order, we'll respond to your email with any questions we have before moving forward with setting up a new dealer account.

**Please bear in mind that this process may take anywhere from a few days to a few weeks to fully set up****.**  We take this program very seriously as FM parts dealers are our local representatives for customers who want more of our parts installed on their Miatas.  The authorized FM dealer program must be a good fit for both FM and the parts dealer.  If you're in a hurry for parts now, please submit a standard order (or have your customer submit their own order) through our website to receive the products sooner rather than later - we will not rush account creation to ensure that all FM dealer applicants meet our high standards.
